Eligible applicants work professionally within the broad outdoor sector or hold formal, verifiable outdoor expertise. Acceptable proof includes pay stubs, work IDs, contracts, certificates, or licenses showing a connection to companies or organizations whose core business is outdoor recreation, adventure travel, hunting, fishing, camping, climbing, paddling, cycling, snow sports, overlanding, or related fields. This covers employees of manufacturers, private-label factories, wholesalers, distributors, brick-and-mortar or e-commerce retailers such as Bass Pro, Backcountry, REI, specialty shops, and emerging brands. Also included are product designers, engineers, sales reps, marketers, field testers, warehouse or logistics staff, corporate personnel, and service providers like repair technicians. Guides, instructors, rangers, search-and-rescue members, avalanche or wilderness medicine educators, and holders of certifications from bodies such as AMGA, ACA, WFR, or similar are equally eligible, whether full-time, part-time, contract, or seasonal.
Outdoor Industry Workers are verified using a combination of digital data, including public and private resources, documents, and e-mail verification.
There are no unique e-mail domains or domain groups associated with Outdoor Industry Workers.
Outdoor Industry Workers who have previously verified are not required to re-verify for 1 year.
